1993 marked the first year that the Club held a Tracking Test sanctioned by the Canadian Kennel Club.
River Valley Obedience Club hosts Tracking Tests for dogs, usually in the fall of each year.
In tracking, dogs follow a person’s scent trail, and locate any articles that have been dropped along the way. There are 4 tracking test titles awarded by the Canadian Kennel Club, for dogs that pass the requirements of the tests:
  1. Tracking Dog (TD)
  2. Tracking Dog Excellent (TDX)
  3. Urban Tracking Dog (UTD)
  4. Urban Tracking Dog Excellent (UTDX)
Dogs that earn all 4 titles are awarded the title of Tracking Champion (TCh).
